“Hey! Sit up straight!”
Takes you back doesn’t it? 3rd grade. “What?” “I said sit up straight!” Man, what a drag. But guess what? Teach was right. Sitting up straight is important. Standing up straight is important. Otherwise we strain joints and muscles in ways they weren’t meant to work. And then, we experience pain, discomfort, fatigue or in extreme (but not umcommon) cases, illness. Once illness is present, it’s easy to think “Wow, if I’d have known that proper posture could have prevented this, I would have sat up straighter!” Well, guess what? Now you know! Before it happens. I can’t tell you how many people I see who have poor posture doing the most mundane things. Sitting, walking, running… It’s amazing. Even trainers do it. I even do it sometimes and I’m a stickler about it. None of us are perfect, but we can start to be more diligent. Right now. Today. How?
“SIT UP STRAIGHT!!!”
